Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation refers to a set of procedures, programs, plans, and projects implemented at mining sites to consider environmental requirements, public safety, and repurposing these sites for other uses.

Principles of Rehabilitation

left-arrow_(1)If the work requires slopes steeper than the stability angle of the material, artificial support should be implemented along with the arrangement of surface water and rainfall drainage systems to prevent their impact on the slope's body.

left-arrow_(1)The topsoil layer should be removed and stored in a specific location for reuse after mining operations are completed.

left-arrow_(1)A barrier should be placed around the mining area

left-arrow_(1)Surface water streams should be diverted away from slopes, and surface water channels should be protected from collapses caused by the accumulation of solid waste from mining operations.

left-arrow_(1)Suitable inclines should be maintained during surface mining operations when extracting ores in hilly and mountainous areas.

left-arrow_(1)Backfilling should be carried out in exhausted areas.

left-arrow_(1)A designated area should be allocated for collecting backfill materials and solid waste resulting from mining operations. Ideally, this area should have a strong, impermeable rock base and be located far from surface water channels and water collection basins.
