Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission is the regulatory body responsible for regulating the mining sector by carrying out control and inspection of quarries and mines in order to implement the provisions of the laws and regulations for mining and quarries throughout the Kingdom and supervising the methods of mineral ore mining and quality determination for structural and industrial purposes. Waste and indiscriminate exploitation and the preservation of prevention and public safety.

The commission also works to issue the necessary licenses for prospecting, mining rights and quarries, as well as laying down effective foundations for the optimal exploitation of mineral resources through evaluating and conducting technical studies for the mining sector, providing guidance and sound scientific advice to investors in all technical and production aspects.

Conducting environmental monitoring and conducting various studies on quarries and mines in terms of environmental and public safety and implementing closures of quarries and mines infringing and within the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom.
